The Lifetime series “UnREAL” will return for its third season on February 26 at 10 p.m. The show, which gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program, will see its first female suitor (Caitlin FitzGerald) this season. The third season will also see more female directors in series star Constance Zimmer, Hanelle M. Culpepper and Sheree Folkson joining Shiri Appleby and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro.
Disney‘s “Big Hero 6” will make its transition from the big screen to the TV screen with a one-hour primetime television movie, “Baymax Returns” on Nov. 20 on Disney Channel and Disney XD. The original cast will reprise their roles for the movie. Immediately following the TV movie, two special full-length preview episodes of “Big Hero 6 The Series” will debut exclusively on the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD VOD, ahead of its early 2018 return.
Freeform’s new show, “Movie Night with Karlie Kloss,” a six-part series of short-form interviews and games, will premiere on Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Kloss will invite some of her closest friends for an evening of movies, games, baking and fun, all while watching some of the most beloved “movie night” films, including “Dirty Dancing,” ”Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Hitch” and “Never Been Kissed,” among others. Serena Williams, Rachel Bilson, Burkely Duffield, Fabrice Calmels, Matthew Hussey, Carter Jenkins, Victoria Justice, Peyton List, Ruby Rose, Lilly Singh, Joel Ward, Jourdan Dunn, Kaia Gerber, Ashley Graham, Martha Hunt, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls and Amber Valletta are set to guest star.
Oxygen Media has announced that their two-night special “Dahmer on Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks” will begin on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. This special will offer a “fresh look” at the infamous serial killer’s life through the eyes of journalist Nancy Glass, who became his closest confidant during jailhouse interviews. This special will feature new interviews from pivotal figures in the case of the man who lured his victims into his home only to drug, violate, kill and consume them.
Freeform has greenlit seven one-hour episodes for the new unscripted series “Disney’s Fairytale Weddings” to be aired in spring 2018. Each episode will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at weddings and engagements taking place at Disney Destinations around the globe. Executive producer Ann Lewis Roberts said the show is designed to show how couples’ dreams come true “by transforming their wedding into an event more magical and spectacular than they could have ever imagined.”
BEHIND THE SCENES
Director/producer Kat Candler and producer Paul Garnes have been bumped up to join Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey as executive producers on “Queen Sugar.” Candler previously served as the producing director in the second season of the series, and Garnes was co-executive producer. In addition to Candler and Garnes, DuVernay’s third season creative production team for “Queen Sugar” will also include DeMane Davis, who will take over Candler’s former role as producing director. Season 3 of the OWN drama will start production in 2018.
