NBC is developing a new comedy created by Suzanne Martin and executive produced by “Will & Grace” star Sean HayesVariety has learned.

Titled “Like Family,” the series would follow  two twentysomething friends who met as foster children try to figure out what they want from life and each other in New York City.

Martin will write and executive produce, with Hayes executive producing under his Hazy Mills Productions banner. Hazy Mills’ Todd Milliner will also executive produce. Universal Television will produce.

Martin previously created the TV Land comedy series “Hot in Cleveland,” which ran on the cable network for six seasons. She also created the “Hot in Cleveland” spinoff series “The Soul Man” starring Cedric the Entertainer, as well as the NBC comedy “Crowded.” Hayes executive produced all three series.

Hayes is best known for his role on “Will & Grace,” which recently returned to NBC for a new installment over 10 years after the original series finale. That series has already been renewed for another season. In addition to executive producing three of Martin’s shows, Hayes also executive produces NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night” and previously executive produced the NBC drama “Grimm.”
