Sonar Entertainment Orders ‘The Mirror Thief’ Pilot Script From Peter Chelsom, John Albanis, Tinker Lindsay

Sonar Entertainment have ordered a pilot script for “The Mirror Thief,” an eight-hour series based on the 2016 novel by author Martin Seay. Peter Chelsom, John Albanis, and Tinker Lindsay are serving as executive producers and co-creators on the project. Chelsom is set to direct and will write the pilot with Lindsay.

The Mirror Thief” is a globe-spanning contemporary thriller where the clues are buried in three different time periods: Venice, Italy 1592; Venice Beach, California 1958; and the Venetian Casino, Las Vegas in 2003.

Chelsom is one of 10 filmmakers directing segments of “Berlin, I Love You,” the sequel to the anthology films “Paris, Je t’aime” and “New York, I Love You.”He directed the recent feature “the Space Between Us,” which starred Asa Butterfield stars as a 16-year-old who has grown up on Mars as the child of an astronaut. While searching for clues about the home planet he’s never known, he begins an online friendship with a street-smart girl, played by Britt Robertson. When he finally gets a chance to return to Earth, scientists discover that his organs can’t withstand Earth’s atmosphere. Chelsom’s other films include “Hector and the Search for Happiness” and “Shall We Dance.”

Chelsom signed on last year to direct a film adaptation of “The Mirror Thief,” but the book is now being developed as a series. He and Lindsay are represented by UTA and Loeb & Loeb. Albanis is represented by Linda Lichter.
