Miller had served as showrunner and exec producer on the TBS weekly satirical comedy since the show’s inception in 2016. She came with Bee from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” where Bee had been a longtime correspondent and Miller a longtime producer.
“Jo is an incredibly talented writer who has played an invaluable role in the creation and success of the Full Frontal with Samantha Bee franchise over the past two years,” TBS said in a statement. “We are grateful for her contributions and wish her continued success.”
“Full Frontal” won the Primetime Emmy Award this year for outstanding writing for a variety special for its “Not the White House Correspondents Dinner” special. The series was nominated for five other Emmys this year, including outstanding variety talk series. It was also nominated in 2016 for outstanding Variety series writing.
Appearing with Miller to promote the upcoming launch of the series at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in 2016, Bee offered praise for her executive producer. In response to a question about her comedy role models, Bee said, ” I would say, well, Jo is one of my role models.”
