In the run-up to Mipcom, TrustNordisk has acquired international sales rights to “Finding Home,” Christian E. Christiansen’s family adventure miniseries which is produced by Zentropa.

Set in 1899 Denmark, “Finding Home” tells the story of 15-year-old Marie and her two younger siblings who live in an orphanage. One day, Marie gets a clue that her father, a sailor who has not been home for three years, has been seen alive. The teenage girl flees the orphanage, disguises herself as a boy and embarks on a journey on the freight ship “Hope” to search for her father and reunite her family.

The series, which will comprise four episodes of about 40 minutes each, started shooting in late September and will continue throughout November on various historical locations in Denmark, Norway and Iceland.

Susan Wendt, who heads international sales and marketing at TrustNordisk, will introduce the series to buyers at Mipcom. “With Zentropa at the helm alongside director Christian E. Christiansen and such a great cast, I am sure this will be a series with great international flair and potential,” said Wendt.

“Finding Home” will star debuting actress Anine Lindvig in the lead as Marie. The cast is completed by well-known Scandinavian actors, including Lars Brygmann (“Across the Water”), Lars Ranthe (“The Hunt”), Molly Bixt Egelind (“Love Is All You Need”), Jon Lange (“The Killing”), Albert Rudbeck Lindhardt (“The Day Will Come”) and Kirsten Olesen (“The Bridge”).

“Finding Home” is produced by Jonas Bagger with Louise Vesth as executive producer for Zentropa Group. The series is co-produced by TV 2 Denmark, FilmFyn, Film i Väst and Sallie, Garnder & Dom NV.
