CANNES — Walt Disney International Chairman Any Bird announced Monday morning that Mark Endemaño will be taking on an expanded role as Senior VP of Media Distribution for the company.
Previously, Endemaño oversaw markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The new role will add to that list North and South Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and Latin America. His responsibilities include the design and implementation of commercial strategies for both digital and standard broadcast platforms for all of the company’s media assets internationally.
Included under his purview are all of Disney’s production companies, networks, music, mobile, games and interactive content across all platforms. Endemaño will continue to work out of his London office and will report to Andy Bird and Diego Lerner, President of The Walt Disney Company EMEA.
Endemaño has been with Disney since 2004 when he was hired as VP of Finance for Disney ABC International TV in EMEA and Canada. Before his recent stint as SVP & GM of Media Distribution, Endemaño was CFO for The Walt Disney Company EMEA from 2012-2014 and before that SVP of Finance & Business Operations in EMEA and CFO of Disney Media Distribution International.
Andy Bird commented in a statement: “The expansion of Mark’s role will enable us to harmonize our strategies and approach with existing and future partners around the world. I’m sure that Mark will apply to our international business the same strategic acumen and passion for our programming that he has done so ably in his current EMEA role.”
“We are in a period of immense and exciting change in how our fans consume our great content; it’s essential we are future-focused in how we work with both our partners and directly to audiences,” Endemaño said:
He went on: “The brands we represent – Disney, ABC Studios, Marvel, Star Wars – are second to none, and I’m looking forward to working with the international distribution teams to build on their excellent work to date and further grow the reach of this unmatched line up of entertainment across all digital and TV platforms.”
