Dance-music veterans Justin Kleinfeld and Lawrence Lui have announced the formation of Bampire, which they describe as a full-service marketing, project management and artist services company.

Collectively, Kleinfeld (president of Rephlektor PR) and Lui (former senior director, marketing at Island and Astralwerks/ Capitol Records) have worked with Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Kiesza, Chemical Brothers, Mat Zo, Basement Jaxx, Avicii, Giorgio Moroder, Moby, Pretty Lights, Tiesto and certainly not least, Bleep Bloop. Kleinfeld began his career as the dance music editor of CMJ and Lui got his start as the music director of New York University’s WNYU. They met while working together on Swedish House Mafia.

“We saw there was a need for independent artists, big and small, to have the full-menu services of a label, without necessarily needing to be on a label,” Kleinfeld said. “The business model itself is ambitious and reflects the changing landscape of the music industry, where artists can develop followings outside of the label system but still with the marketing acumen of professionals. We’re essentially bringing the best of both worlds together for artists.”

The company’s first clients are British dance-music trio Above & Beyond and Australian producer/DJ tyDi. Both artists have albums coming out in early 2018.
