Broadway Press Agents Launch Personal PR Firm

Molly Barnett and Chelsea Nachman, two theater press agents who have worked together for years at DKC/O&M, have stepped out on their own to launch Grapevine Public Relations, a PR firm that specializes in repping theatrical talent.

At DKC/O&M, Barnett and Nachman have worked on shows including “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Kinky Boots,” “Fun Home” and “Beautiful.” Grapevine launches with a roster of names with whom the duo has worked on those projects, including actors Jessie Mueller, Billy Porter and Blair Brown, as well as composers Cyndi Lauper, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, Jeanine Tesori and Kait Kerrigan & Brian Lowdermilk. In addition, Barnett and Nachman will continue to work with DKC/O&M in repping Tony champ “Dear Evan Hansen.”

In recent months, another longtime staffer at DKC/O&M, Andy Snyder, also hung out his own shingle, launching the writing-focused agency Thinkwell NYC. DKC/O&M was known as O&M Co. prior to its acquisition by DKC in 2015. The small, insular world of Broadway PR is dominated by only a handful of press agencies, of which DKC/O&M is one.

Upcoming project for Grapevine’s clients include the film “The Greatest Showman,” with songs written by Pasek and Paul; and “Carousel,” the upcoming Broadway revival in which Mueller (“Beautiful”) will star.
