The Match Factory has pre-sold Margarethe von Trotta’s English-language comedy “Forget About Nick” to key territories ahead of its world premiere at the Tokyo Film Festival.
Starring Katja Riemann, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal and Haluk Bilginer, “Forget About Nick” tells the story of two completely different women, an intellectual and a model, who have to share the same luxurious flat in New York and the same ex-husband, Nick. The Match Factory has pre-sold the film to BIM in Italy, Golem in Spain, Yeni Bir in Turkey and MCF MegaCom in Former Yugoslavia.
“Forget About Nick” reteamed Von Trotta with scriptwriter Pam Katz and producer Bettina Brokemper from her 2012 biopic “Hannah Arendt,” a critical success which sold to more than 50 territories. “Forget About Nick” was produced by Brokemper at Heitmatfilm.
Warner Bros. will give the movie a wide release across Germany on Dec.7.
A veteran German actress-turned-filmmaker, Von Trotta rose to prominence in the 1980s with films such as “Rosa Luxembourg” and “Three Sisters,” both of which competed at Cannes.
