O’Shea Jackson Jr. is in negotiations to join Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron in Lionsgate’s “Flarsky.”

Jonathan Levine is directing. Lionsgate declined to comment on the casting.

Rogen will play an unemployed journalist named Fred Flarsky, battered by his own misfortune and self-destructive ways, who endeavors to pursue Theron’s character — his childhood crush and babysitter, who now happens to be one of the most powerful and unattainable women on earth. It is unknown what character Jackson will play.

The script is written by veteran comedy scribe Dan Sterling.

Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, Theron’s Denver and Delilah Films, and Good Universe are the production companies. The movie is currently in pre-production.

Producers are Point Grey principals Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver, alongside Denver and Delilah’s Theron, Beth Kono, and A.J. Dix. Sterling will also executive produce alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake. Alex McAtee is overseeing the project for Point Grey and Erin Westerman for Good Universe.

The film is dated for Feb. 8, 2019.

Jackson just recently garnered positive notices for his performance in the Sundance movie “Ingrid Goes West.” He can be seen next in the action film “Den of Thieves” and “Godzilla King of the Monsters.”

He is repped by WME and Cube Vision.
