Milo Ventimiglia Joins Jennifer Lopez’s Romantic Comedy ‘Second Act’

Milo Ventimiglia will play Jennifer Lopez’s longtime boyfriend in the upcoming romantic comedy “Second Act.”

Ventimiglia recently received an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for his role as Jack Pearson on NBC’s “This Is Us.”

Peter Segal will direct the film, which was developed by STXfilms with Lopez from an idea conceived by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who’s collaborated with Lopez before, and Justin Zackham.

The movie is in the vein of “Maid in Manhattan” and “Working Girl.” Lopez will play a big-box store employee who reinvents her life and her lifestyle, and gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree.

Second Act” is written by Zackham (“Lights Out”) and Goldsmith-Thomas. The producers are Goldsmith-Thomas, Lopez, Zackham, and Benny Medina.

Leah Remini is attached to portray the best friend and fellow employee of Lopez’s character and Vanessa Hudgens will play an executive at a consumer goods company. Dan Bucatinsky, Annaleigh Ashford, and Freddie Stroma round out the cast.

Ventimiglia’s other TV credits include starring as Jess Mariano in the hit series “Gilmore Girls” and playing Peter Petrelli on NBC’s “Heroes.” He is repped by WME, Management 360, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
