The Los Angeles Police Department on Friday confirmed it’s investigating a second claim of sexual assault involving Harvey Weinstein.
Detectives are looking into allegations only described as lewd acts stemming from a 2015 incident.
Weinstein is already under investigation in Beverly Hills, New York and London.
On Friday, law enforcement officials in New York they had enough “credible” evidence to arrest the disgraced mogul.
Actress Paz de la Huerta, star of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” claims Weinstein raped her twice in 2010.
“She put forth a credible and detailed narrative to us. We then sought to garner corroboration — this happened seven years ago — and we found corroboration,” N.Y. Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told reporters. “We have an actual case here.”
Boyce added that if the allegations were more recent and if Weinstein was still in New York, “we would go right away and make the arrest.”
Weinstein is currently in a voluntary rehab facility in Arizona, thus the Manhattan District Attorney would have to secure an arrest warrant.
“Right now, we are gathering our evidence. We continue to do so every day,” Boyce said. “This is a collaborative effort between us and the district attorney of New York. So we’ll work together to get this done.”
