Rob McElhenney Lists Valley Traditional Home (EXCLUSIVE)

Location:
Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Price:
$2.675 million
Size:
4,024 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms

An East Coast traditional set behind gates on an almost quarter-acre lot on a coveted street in a prime pocket of the Sherman Oaks community in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley, owned by “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” creator, writer, producer and actor Rob McElhenney, is now for sale at $2.675 million after first coming to market at at $2.75 million.

McElhenney, signed on to write and direct the upcoming feature-length adventure fantasy “Minecraft: The Movie,” has owned the property with his wife and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” co-star Kaitlin Olson since 2008, when they bought the brand-new home for $2.1 million.

With four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, the just over 4,000-square-foot two-story residence features high ceilings, numerous skylights, freshly refinished dark-stained hardwood floors and art-friendly white walls. There are formal living and dining rooms, the former with a fireplace, an office/den and an en suite bedroom on the main floor for guests or staff.

A commodious great room spans the width of the rear of the home and includes a family room with a vaulted ceiling and fireplace, an informal dining area and an all-white kitchen with a walk-in pantry, chef-grade appliances, slab-marble countertops and classic subway-tile backsplashes.

Four sets of French doors open the room to a charcoal-colored flagstone-paved patio that gives way to a grassy yard and a saltwater swimming pool and spa surrounded by dense tropical foliage and mature shade trees.

Front and rear stairs lead to the second floor, where two family bedrooms each have a private bathroom. The master bedroom, plenty roomy enough to accommodate a comfy sitting area, includes two walk-in closets, a bathroom with a jetted tub and rainfall shower and French doors to a private balcony with a back-yard overlook.
