‘Real Housewives of New York City’s’ Bethenny Frankel Lists SoHo Loft as High-End Rental

Not having much luck selling her loft in New York City’s SoHo ‘hood, reality TV star and Skinny Girl booze baroness Bethenny Frankel has now made it available, as first noted by the property gossips at Curbed, as a $13,000 per month luxury rental. Frankel paid $4.2 million for the loft in the fall of 2014, more than a year after she split from ex-husband turned stalker Jason Hoppy, gave it a thorough if mostly cosmetic renovation she debuted on “The Real Housewives of New York City,” and first set it out for sale early in 2017 with an overly optimistic asking price of $5.25 million that has steadily dropped to its current $4.495 million.

Located on a cobblestone block just above Canal Street on the second floor of a handsome, cast iron and red brick boutique building built in 1860 and staffed with a full-time doorman, the luxuriously finished 2,392-square-foot condo has two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, rich walnut floorboards, ceilings that soar to 14 feet, a snazzy home automation system and a comprehensive sound system with speakers throughout.

The front door opens to a bowling alley length foyer and entrance gallery lined along one wall with a variety of custom built-ins and the lofty, open-plan living, dining and kitchen space features a wood burning fireplace and three, east-facing floor-to-ceiling arched windows, one of which opens to a small balcony overlooking the street. Two steps up from the living and dining area, the state-of-the-art center island kitchen is fitted with imported slab marble counter tops on lustrous white cabinetry imported from Germany along with an array of designer appliances that include two wine fridges in the walk-in pantry and utility closet.

Both bedrooms are generously sized with huge windows that look into an air shaft/atrium gussied up with a planted green wall and the master bedroom additionally provides a plethora of custom built-ins, a lavishly fitted pass through closet with lighted shoe shelves and a bathroom lined in gold-veined marble tiles and fitted with a glass enclosed steam shower.

Earlier this year, with the help of fellow Bravolebrity Fredrik Eklund of “Million Dollar Listing,” with whom she co-hosts the real estate based reality TV show “Keeping It Real Estate,” Frankel sold her former apartment in Tribeca, which she once shared with Hoppy, after just one day on the market for its full asking price of $6.95 million. The tough talking, no-nonsense entrepreneur also maintains a three-quarter-acre compound in tony Bridgehampton, N.Y. that property records indicate she picked up in late 2013 for $2.65 million and listing details from the time of the sale show scenically backs up to open farmland with a five-bedroom and three-bathroom main house plus a 750-square-foot guest cottage with one bedroom and one bathroom.
