FoxNext Hires Former Disney VP Marc Zachary to Lead Destination Biz

20th Century Fox and Fox Networks innovation unit FoxNext has hired Marc Zachary as its new senior bizdev VP of  FoxNext Destinations. In that role, Zachary  is going to be tasked with striking business deals and partnerships for theme parks and other location-based entertainment worldwide, according to an announcement made Wednesday.

“As we look to aggressively expand our plans around theme parks and location-based entertainment, we are fortunate to have an executive as skilled and passionate as Marc on the team,” said FoxNext President Salil Mehta in a statement. “His expertise will help us expand our portfolio to locations around the world.”

Before joining FoxNext, Zachary served for six years as the VP of bizdev and operations at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive. Previous career stints included a SVP role at video advertising specialist Auditude.

FoxNext is currently developing the 20th Century Fox World theme park in Malaysia, but the unit is also actively involved in next-generation entertainment destinations, including VR arcades and more. One of the projects currently  in development in that real is an untethered “Alien” VR experience.

Fox is also an investor in Dreamscape Immersive, the location-based VR startup that just teamed up with AMC to open six VR destinations next year.
