TV Ratings: ‘Bachelorette’ Beats ‘American Ninja Warrior,’ ‘BrainDead’ Dips

After taking a week off to make room for the NBA Finals, “The Bachelorette” was back on top of Monday night, nabbing a 2.0 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic and drawing 7 million viewers overall, in line with its previous outing. That was enough to outpace NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” from 8-10 p.m., with the competition series earning a 1.8 rating and 6.3 million viewers. “Mistresses” followed with a 0.8 rating and 3 million viewers,

The combined power of “Ninja Warrior” and “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” (1.5 rating, 4.6 million viewers) helped NBC to win the night overall, with the Peacock averaging a 1.7 demo score and 5.8 million viewers. “Spartan” also retained 100% of last week’s premiere rating and topped its competition in the 10 p.m. hour.

ABC was close behind NBC for the night with a 1.6 in adults 18-49 and 5.7 million watchers, leaving a sizable gap between the two nets and their competitors. CBS scored a 0.7 behind a night of repeats and a new episode of “BrainDead,” which dipped two tenths from its premiere to a 0.5 rating and 3.4 million viewers. Fox notched a 0.6 demo score and 2.5 million viewers overall with “So You Think You Can Dance” (0.8, 3.2 million viewers) and “Houdini and Doyle” (0.4 rating, 1.8 million), and The CW averaged a 0.3 and 1 million viewers for the night, with the finale of “Reign” going out with a 0.3 and around a million viewers.

    Review: 'O.G.' on HBO

Jeffrey Wright, the most compelling reason to watch HBO’s new film “O.G.,” is among television’s best actors at switching between codes or manners of being. On “Westworld,” his timeline-toggling android swaps personae so delicately that his performance gains in resonance when recalled in retrospect. (Perhaps that’s why Wright has been so oddly underrated through the [...]
