CBS Renews Entire Daytime Slate Including Soaps, ‘The Talk’ & ‘Let’s Make A Deal’

CBS has renewed its entire daytime slate for the 2016-2017 season, which includes “Let’s Make a Deal,” “The Price is Right,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Talk,” Variety has learned.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” landed a two-season renewal. Meanwhile, “The Price is Right” and “The Young and the Restless” had already been picked up through the 2017 season.

“The Price Is Right,” hosted by Drew Carey, will head into its 44th season, and “Let’s Make A Deal,” which is hosted by Wayne Brady, will return for its eighth season. “The Talk” will be back for a seventh season.

“Each year, CBS Daytime produces more than 1,000 episodes of programming — the most for any broadcast network — which is only possible due to the incredible passion of the industry’s best creative talent, both in front of and behind the camera,” said Angelica McDaniel, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution’s exec vice president of daytime programs and syndicated program development. “Our loyal audience has made CBS Daytime the No. 1 daily destination for millions of viewers, and we thank them for contributing to this phenomenal success. Next year will be even bigger and bolder!”

The renewals come after ratings growth for many of the shows, and numerous Daytime Emmy nominations with “Young and Restless” leading the pack for the upcoming award show.

CBS Daytime has been the ratings leader for 29 years, led by “The Price is Right” (5.51 million) and “The Young and the Restless” (5.28 million), both up slightly vs. last year. Also up a bit from last season are “Let’s Make a Deal” (3.53 million) and “The Talk” (2.77 million), while “The Bold and the Beautiful” (3.94 million) remains the most-watched serial in the world.
