NBC is continuing its dance with Jennifer Lopez.

The “Shades of Blue” superstar is teaming up with the network for a brand new dance competition series “World of Dance,” which NBC has greenlit with a straight-to-series ten-episode order.

Lopez is on board as an exec producer. Sources say it’s undetermined if she will appear in any on-camera capacity, and that decision will come down the road.

Described as an “unparalleled dance competition,” the winner of the new series will receive a grand prize of one million dollars. The show will feature solo artists competing against duos and crews in all genres of dance, including hip hop, krumping, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, clogging, stomping and more.

“This will be a fierce talent-heavy dance competition that embraces the raw emotion and excitement that dance represents. I am excited to work with World of Dance, an organization that has had an immeasurable impact on the dance community, to give all dancers an enormous platform where their dreams can be realized,” said Lopez.

“Dance rivals any sport for its ability to produce world-class athletes and powerful performances that entertain, inspire and unite people from all walks of life,” said Meredith Ahr, president of Universal Television Alternative Studios. “The unmatched credibility that the World of Dance organization has achieved so quickly speaks to the high standard they have set for their community, which is based on authentic expression, diversity and innovation. Those core values, paired with one of dance’s greatest success stories and role models, Jennifer Lopez, are sure to give viewers a front row seat as dance is taken to the next level.”

Dancers featured on the show will be handpicked from qualifying events around the nation and thousands of online submissions. The competitors will be divided into three groups: under 16 years old, over 16 years old and teams.

Choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo, best known as Nappytabs, will also be featured on the show. The duo choreographed Lopez’s Las Vegas residency show “All I Have.”

Lopez — who started her entertainment career dancing as a Fly Girl on “In Living Color” — is exec producing via her Nuyorican Productions shingle in partnership with global dance brand World of Dance and the newly formed Universal Television Alternative Studios. Other exec producers are Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, Kris Curry, Matilda Zoltowski, David Gonzalez, Matthew Everitt and Al Hassas.

“World of Dance” is the second dance competition show at NBC with a celebrity at the helm. Earlier this year, the network greenlit a series from Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum, which landed a six-episode order.

Lopez made the announcement regarding the new series, along with a casting call, in a video on Tuesday.
