The seventh season premiere of “The Walking Dead” may have delivered in ratings, but that didn’t keep many from illegally streaming the episode worldwide.

The seventh season premiere drew approximately 17 million Americans last Sunday in the U.S, and a 8.4 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. However, it also garnered about 600,544 downloaders in the first 24 hours, according to piracy-tracking firm Tecxipio. The piracy numbers are up from last year’s season 6 premiere of 569,772.

Additionally, Brazil, France and the United States ranked highest in pirating of “Walking Dead” episodes at the time of the premiere. Brazil took first place with 175,724, followed by France and the U.S. with 153,729 and 150,582, respectively. The U.S. was the highest ranked country in terms of piracy for the season 6 premiere.

“The Walking Dead” has already been renewed for season 8. The series airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.

Formerly known as Excipio, the German-based company rebranded as Tecxipio earlier this month.
