Fox has bought a script for a workplace comedy, hailing from writer Lesley Wake Webster and exec producer Jason WinerVariety has learned.

The single-camera comedy, titled “Type-A,” landed a script plus penalty commitment. 20th Century Fox is the studio.

Here’s the logline: “A workplace comedy about a group of people hand-picked to do a job most of us couldn’t handle. They are Achievers. Alphas. But most importantly…Assholes.”

Wake Webster, a co-exec producer on “The Odd Couple” and supervising producer on “American Dad,” penned the script. She will serve as executive producer, along with Winer, who’s best known for his directing work on “Modern Family.” Winer has a longstanding relationship with 20th Century Fox TV from “Modern Family” to “Life in Pieces” to Robin Williams’ “The Crazy Ones,” all on which he served as an exec producer. He also co-created the Josh Gad comedy “1600 Penn.”
