“Timeless” debuted in NBC’s coveted post-“Voice” timeslot Monday night, garnering unspectacular numbers.

The sci-fi drama drew a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.7 million total viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same day numbers. That places it among the better new drama premieres of the 2016-17 season thus far. But it also shed much of its lead-in from “The Voice,” which drew a 2.9 in the demo and 11.6 million viewers. “Timeless” was down 34% in the demo and in viewers from “The Voice.” Premiering in the same timeslot last year, “Blindspot” drew a 3.1 and 10.6 million viewers, shedding only 11% of its lead-in in the demo and 15% in total viewers.

Monday night’s other freshman drama premiere, ABC’s “Conviction,” fared no better. Star Haley Atwell’s new series drew a 1.0 in the demo and 5.4 million total viewers. That’s two tenths lower in the demo and 1.2 million viewers below what the season premiere of “Castle” did in the same timeslot with a similar lead-in last fall. It is also down 41% in the demo and 49% in viewers from last night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” which lead into “Conviction” with a 1.7 and 10.6 million viewers.

CBS’ “Scorpion” debuted its new season averaging a 1.8 demo and 9.1 million viewers with back-to-cab episodes. “The Big Bang Theory” led off the night for CBS with a 3.4 (down one tenth of a point from last week), followed by “Kevin Can Wait” with a 2.4. at 10 p.m. (down 11% from last week).

Fox’s “Gotham” drew a 1.0, down 17% from last week, followed by “Lucifer” with a 1.1.

NBC was the night’s top network, averaging a 2.6 rating and 9 share in the demo. CBS averaged a 2.2 /7, followed by ABC with a 1.4 / 5. CW averaged with a 0.4 / 1 with reruns.
