USA Network has given a pilot order to a drama set against the backdrop of cultural and political unrest at Yale University in 1969.
“The Tap” hails from Universal Cable Productions. Andrew Lenchewski (“Royal Pains”) and Aaron Tracy (“Sequestered”) penned the pilot which is produced by Rob Reiner and Alan Greisman and Charlie Ebersol. Lenchewski is an exec producer while Tracy is a co-exec producer.
“The Tap” focuses on the experiences of three characters as Yale deals with the arrival of its first female students. Jay is a self-styled conservative desperate to join the school’s notorious Skull and Bones society. Michelle is an ardent feminist while Gloria is looking to focus on her education rather than racial and gender politics.
“The Tap” joins “Damnation” on the roster of USA drama pilots for the current development cycle.
