Watch: First Look at AMC’s Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie Spy Thriller ‘The Night Manager’

AMC has released the first trailer for the six-part mini-series “The Night Manager” starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie.

The series is an adaptation of the John le Carre espionage novel. Hiddleston plays a former British soldier who is recruited to infiltrate the inner circle of businessman Richard Onslow Roper, played by Laurie. His goal is to dismantle the unholy alliance between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. In order to do this, he must become a criminal himself.

The trailer shows Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine being interrogated about his intentions, struggling to not be seduced by Roper’s girlfriend Jed (played by Elizabeth Debicki) and being told that the man he is after is the “worst man in the world.”

“Someone is messing with my affairs,” Laurie says in the video (below). “Anyone can betray anyone.”

The mini-series premieres on AMC on April 19 and also stars Olivia Colman and Tom Hollander.
