Canadian holiday animation special “The Magic Hockey Skates” has scored a U.S. broadcast deal with Sprout, NBC Universal Cable Entertainment’s 24-hour preschool network.

The half-hour animated special will preem on the channel in December 2016 as part of Sprout’s holiday line-up, which will also feature movies and specials every weekend throughout December.

Based on the book of the same name and produced by Amberwood Entertainment, “The Magic Hockey Skates” is a 2D animated special that follows a young boys’ journey as he gains confidence and self-respect with the help of a pair of magic skates.

eOne has already sold international broadcast rights to a raft of territories including Latin America and Brazil (the Disney Channel), Canada (SRC), France (France Televisions), Germany (KiKA), Sweden (SVT), Denmark (DR Danish Broadcasting Corporation) and the Middle East (MBC).
