Sarah Wayne Callies Joins Fox’s ‘Prison Break’ Revival

Sarah Wayne Callies is coming back to “Prison Break,” Variety has learned.

Callies will reprise her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi in Fox’s limited event series “Prison Break,” which will premiere next season. Production will begin in Vancouver in April.

Callies joins series stars Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) and Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows), who are also returning. In the drama’s new chapter, which picks up after Michael’s apparent death, Sara has moved on with her life, raising her and Michael’s child with her new husband (guest star Mark Feuerstein, “Royal Pains”). When clues surface suggesting that Michael may be alive, Sara teams with Lincoln to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever.

Based on the 2005 series, which ran four seasons, the original producing team Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead will return as exec producers, with Scheuring writing and serving as showrunner. Vaun Wilmott, Michael Horowitz and Nelson McCormick will also serve as executive producers. McCormick will also serve as director.

The revival of the series, which will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV, was first announced at the Television Critics Association press tour in January by Fox CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman.

Callies is represented by ICM Partners, More/Medavoy Management and Sloane Offer Weber Dern.
