Michael Douglas and former O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Shapiro have been added as guests to Megyn Kelly’s upcoming interview special on Fox. Douglas and Shapiro join a guest list that also includes Donald Trump. Fox revealed Monday that the Republican presidential candidate would join Kelly for her first primetime special on the broadcast network.
Shapiro, a key member of Simpson’s so-called legal “dream team,” was recently portrayed by John Travolta in the FX miniseries “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”
Fox moved the date of the Kelly special last month up a week from May 23 to May 17, placing it against NBC’s “The Voice” and the season finale of CBS’ “NCIS.”
Trump had long been rumored to be joining the special as a guest after Kelly met with him in April at Trump Tower in New York. Kelly has been a target of persistent criticism from Trump on social media.
“Mr. Trump and I sat down together for a meeting earlier this month at my request,” Kelly said in a statement Monday. “He was gracious with his time and I asked him to consider an interview. I am happy to announce he has agreed, and I look forward to a fascinating exchange — our first sit-down interview together in nearly a year.”
“Megyn Kelly Presents” is being executive produced by Bill Geddie, Barbara Walters’ longtime producing partner. Roger Ailes, Fox News CEO, is serving as senior executive producer.
