Marion Edwards, an international TV sales pioneer and 24-year veteran of Fox, will receive the inaugural Variety Vanguard Award at the Mipcom conference in October.
The honor recognizes Edwards’ contributions to the growth of the global television business. Edwards announced in July that she would be stepping down from her post as president of international for 20th Century Fox Television Distribution at year’s end.
The award will be presented Oct. 18 in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais in Cannes, where the Mipcom market runs from Oct. 17-20. The ceremony will be followed by a reception at the Carlton Hotel.
The Variety Vanguard Award is a lifetime achievement honor recognizing executives in the international television business.
