TV News Roundup: ‘Kocktails with Khloe’ Guests Announced, Casey Patterson Named MTV Movie Awards Exec Producer

Khloe Kardashian’s talk show “Kocktails with Khloe” announces its first guests, including younger sister Kendall Jenner, and Bravo announces a new series. Also in today’s TV news roundup, “Lip Sync Battle’s” Casey Patterson has been named exec producer of the 2016 MTV Movie Awards.

Executive News:

Casey Patterson has been named the executive producer of the 2016 MTV Movie Awards.

“I have always loved the MTV Movie Awards because they represent the coolest, loudest and most hyper-engaged audience out there,” said Patterson. “The Movie Awards isn’t about critics, it’s about the fans, spectacle, comedy and fun. This has always been ‘my’ movie award show as a fan, so to be asked to produce the 25th Anniversary is every exciting.”

The producer’s production company Casey Patterson Entertainment is behind “Lip Sync Battle” — which was renewed for season three on Tuesday — Netflix’s “A Very Murray Christmas” and Fox’s “Taraji and Terrence’s White Hot Holidays” special.

Hector Campos has joined UP as vice president of programming, the network announced Tuesday. Campos was most recently vice president of programming and acquisitions at CMT.

“Hector is a cable industry veteran with a long string of accomplishments in programming strategy, acquisition and scheduling at Turner Broadcasting System and CMT,” said Sophia Karteris Kelley, SVP of programming at UP. “His experience will enable him to fully leverage our programming inventory on all linear and non-linear platforms to support our goals and continue to grow our audience and business.”

New Series:

Bravo‘s travel docuseries “Tour Group” premieres March 1, the cabler announced Tuesday. The show follows a group of 11 travelers searching for the perfect vacation. The group will be led by three expert tour guides, Brandon Presser, Rachel Grant and Sandhurst Miggins, who will lead them through exotic and exclusive locations around the globe.

PBS Kids has picked up new seriesSplash,” which will premiere this fall. Produced by the Jim Henson Company and created by John Tartaglia, “Splash” is designed to encourage kids to explore diversity and the spectacle of the undersea world through the eyes of a yellow fusilier fish who moves to a new town.

Casting News:

FYI’s “Kocktails with Khloe” has set its first crop of guests. Snoop Dogg, Kendall Jenner, Aisha Tyler, Brandi Glanville and Kym Whitley will join Kardashian on the talk show, which premieres Jan. 20.
