Julianne Hough will guest star on ABC’s hit family comedy “Speechless,” Variety has learned.

Hough will appear in the ninth episode of the current season. She will play Miss Bloom, a young, beautiful and enthusiastic new choir teacher who’s excited to teach all of the new choir students, including JJ (Micah Fowler).

The guest gig is an extension of Hough’s relationship with ABC, as she’s a current judge and pro-dancer alum on the network’s “Dancing With The Stars.” Aside from “DWTS,” Hough recently wowed as Sandy in Fox’s “Grease: Live!” Her acting creds include films “Footloose” and “Safe Haven,” and “Speechless” marks the first television acting gig for the Emmy-winning choreographer.

“Speechless” is one of the top new series for the 2016-17 TV season, landing an early full-season pickup of 22 episodes. The comedy stars Minnie Driver as the mother of a family of five, including a teenage child with cerebral palsy. The series has received much critical acclaim, plus praise for tackling the subject matter through a relatable, comedic lens.

Hough is repped by WME.
