Lin-Manuel Miranda Helps James Corden Prepare for Tony Awards With Broadway Carpool Karaoke

James Corden isn’t just the face of “The Late Late Show” — he’s also hosting the 2016 Tony Awards, airing June 12 on CBS. To prepare for the job, he picked up some of Broadway’s best and brightest, including “Hamilton” creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jane Krakowski (“She Loves Me”), Audra McDonald (“Shuffle Along”) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Fully Committed”) to help him get to the Beacon Theatre in time for Sunday’s show.

Along the way, of course, the thesps also found time to belt out tunes from “Hamilton” (“Guns and Ships”), “Rent” (“Seasons of Love”), “Jersey Boys” (“Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”) and “Les Miserables” (“One Day More”), proving that the acoustics are pretty good inside a car.

Miranda’s “Hamilton” and McDonald’s “Shuffle Along” are both up for Best Musical at Sunday’s ceremony, while Krakowski’s “She Loves Me” was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical. “Hamilton” leads the year’s nominations, with a record 16 across the board. “Shuffle Along” follows with 10, followed by “She Loves Me” with 8.

The 2016 Tony Awards air Sunday, June 12 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
