HBO Sports and IMG’s Original Content unit have teamed for an unscripted series about Gonzaga University’s 2015-16 basketball season.

The series, “Gonzaga: The March to Madness,” follows the team for five episodes beginning at the start of their season in November. The Zags have been to 1 consecutive NCAA Tournaments and the show will chronicle their attempts to make it 18 while also offering behind-the-scenes footage and a look at the personalities of the people involved with the program.

“We are always looking for fascinating stories that will appeal to our subscribers, and this project will shine a spotlight on one of the most successful basketball programs in America,” Rick Bernstein, executive producer, HBO Sports, said. “Gonzaga University has built a tremendous program, but so many of its accomplishments and backstories are largely unknown.”

The Bulldogs are fourth in active streaks of tournament appearances. The three programs ahead of it are Kansas, Duke and Michigan State. The team is 13-3 so far this season.

“Every March, Gonzaga rallies the global basketball community around them,” said WME/IMG chief content officer Mark Shapiro. “The Zags are a team with incredible leadership, dedicated players and a history like no other. Having spent months documenting their journey, we could not be more excited to share this unique, all-access story in partnership with HBO.”
