Nahnatchka Khan is getting her own production pod at 20th Century Fox TV. The creator of ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat” has just signed a multiyear deal where she’ll be creating, writing, developing, and supervising projects under her Fierce Baby Productions banner while also still serving as showrunner on “Fresh Off the Boat.”

To assist in developing all these potential projects, 20th TV’s Mandy Summers will join Khan as Fierce Baby’s head of development. Together, they’ll search for new writing talent to cultivate.

“I’ve been incredibly lucky to be at 20th for basically the entire run of my professional career,” Khan said in a statement. “Thanks to Jonnie Davis and Howard Kurtzman for making this happen and for being the best partners in the game. And a huge thanks to Dana Walden and Gary Newman for always encouraging and supporting me, I’m proud to be on their team. And if Kim Kardashian decides to release a Snapchat video of me saying anything different, she’ll be hearing from my lawyers.”

In addition to the critically beloved “Fresh Off the Boat,” Khan brought America the short-lived but much-mourned “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23,” and served as executive producer on Fox’s “American Dad.” She started her writing career on Fox’s “Malcolm in the Middle” and Disney’s seminal late ‘90s animated kids show “Pepper Ann.”
