Caitlyn Jenner to Appear on ‘Transparent’ Season 3

Caitlyn Jenner will appear on the third season of Amazon’s “Transparent,” according to the show’s creator Jill Soloway.

Speaking in an interview at the GLAAD Media Awards this weekend, Soloway said getting Jenner to come on the series is a “dream come true.”

“We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, ‘I Am Cait,'” Soloway said to the Associated Press at the award show. “Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.”

“I Am Cait,” Jenner’s docuseries on E!, features cast member Zackary Drucker who also serves as a producer on “Transparent.”

Amazon has not officially confirmed Jenner’s casting, though Variety has reached out for comment. Soloway would not reveal any details on Jenner’s role or amount of screen time, other than saying she would appear in the upcoming third season and begins filming next week.

Soloway is not one to shy away from revealing casting details herself. Last year at Variety‘s pre-Emmy bash, she shared that Anjelica Huston would join the second season.

“Transparent,” which stars award-winning Jeffrey Tambor as Maura Pfefferman, a transgender woman, won for outstanding comedy series at the GLAAD Awards where Soloway revealed Jenner’s casting news. “I Am Cait” also won a big award, tying for outstanding reality program.

Last summer, Soloway told Variety that she’d love to have Jenner on the show.

“I don’t know if she’d want to act, but we definitely want to incorporate the fact that she came out into this season,” she said. “Just to have that base conversation somewhere in a scene, for sure.”

Update, 4/4: Amazon has officially confirmed with Variety that Jenner will appear on Season 3 of “Transparent.” No episodic or character details have been released.
