NBCUniversal has named Betsy Bergman as senior VP of marketing and brand strategy for its TV distribution division.
Bergman will guide all marketing and brand strategy efforts for the TV and new media distribution group as well as the domestic TV distribution group. Based in New York, she’ll report to NBCU TV execs Frances Manfredi and Valerie Schaer.
“Betsy is a consummate industry professional with the leadership skills, creativity and experience to keep driving NBCUniversal’s distribution business forward,” said Manfredi, the president of NBCU’s TV and new media distribution, in a statement. “Betsy has a proven track record of results and success and we’re excited to have her back at NBCUniversal.”
Bergman returns to NBCU from an executive post at Sony Pictures Television, where she served as VP of marketing, overseeing sales and consumer marketing initiatives for shows including “The Dr. Oz Show,” “Shark Tank” and “Seinfeld.” Prior to Sony, she served in a similar role at NBCU as VP of marketing for NBCU TV distribution and VP of advertising and affiliate relations for Universal TV. She previously worked on such shows as “Access Hollywood,” “The Jerry Springer Show,” “Maury” and “Law & Order: SVU.”
