Hirsch has set a deal for a script and presentation pilot for Fox and 20th Century Fox TV. Details of the project are being kept mum.
“I’m cooking up some brand-new weirdness,” Hirsch told Variety.
Hirsch has been pursued by numerous outlets for development projects coming off the success of “Gravity Falls,” the offbeat mystery toon series for Disney XD that has developed a “Lost”-like cult following. The series is wrapping its 40-episode run with an hourlong finale on Feb. 15.
Fox was a natural home for Hirsch given its success with primetime animated series.
Hirsch is an animation wunderkind who grabbed the industry’s attention with his short films by the time he graduated in 2007 from CalArts. He was recruited by Disney to help develop the Disney Channel series “Fish Hooks” before he created “Gravity Falls.”
Hirsch is repped by UTA and attorney Jared Levine at Morris Yorn.
