A+E Networks has promoted David “Digger” Granville-Smith to the position of COO and CFO, the company announced Wednesday. The executive adds the position of COO to his existing role as CFO.
“Over the last two and half years, Digger has been a tremendous asset to A+E Networks as well as an invaluable partner to me,” said A+E Networks president and CEO Nancy Dubuc. “From rapidly growing A+E Studios to overseeing our partnership with Vice Media, his strong leadership and financial acumen have directly contributed to some of the most significant milestones in our company’s history, and I couldn’t be more proud to announce this expanded role in which he will continue to create value and drive growth across all divisions of our organization.”
In addition to leading financial functions across A+E’s cable channels as well as its studio, film, digital, and international divisions, Granville-Smith heads production, operations, engineering and IT for the company and provides strategic and operational leadership for other divisions.
Granville-Smith joined A+E Networks in 2014. He had previously spent 23 years at J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns. At J.P. Morgan he served as managing director and head of the media group in the investment banking division. Prior to Bear Stearns he worked in mergers and acquisitions at Smith Barney.
