Spike to Launch ‘Adam Carolla Builds Stuff Live’ Carpentry Series

Spike is teaming with Adam Carolla and the producers of “Talking Dead” for a new live series that will star Carolla, the network announced Thursday.

Launching in 2017, “Adam Carolla and Friends Build Stuff Live” will feature the television, radio and Internet personality taking on building projects with celebrity friends in need of his carpentry expertise, in a project that’s billed as “an interactive talk show meets a build show meets a live comedy show.”

Each week, Carolla will work alongside a different celebrity and engage with fans on social media who have carpentry questions. Spike has ordered 10 one-hour episodes, which will be broadcast live from Los Angeles and will include taped segments to show viewers the preparation that went into each week’s building project.

Carolla will also serve as an executive producer along with Michael Davies and his Embassy Row Productions. Sharon Levy, EVP of original series; Chachi Senior, SVP of original programming; and Justin Lacob, VP of original series, will oversee for the network.

Carolla currently hosts “The Adam Carolla Show” podcast, and has starred in and produced TV series including Comedy Central’s “The Man Show,” “Crank Yankers” and MTV’s “Loveline.”
