Veteran public-relations executive Jori Arancio has been named senior vice president, ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios, it was announced Friday. Arancio joins ABC from cable sibling Freeform, where she had been VP of communications.
Reporting to Disney-ABC Television Group EVP of global communications Kevin Brockman, Arancio will work closely with ABC Studios president Patrick Moran and ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungy. She will take responsibility for strategic corporate communication efforts; consumer press campaigns; awards outreach; and talent relations for the two business units.
“Jori’s extensive experience and bold leadership will help elevate our communication efforts and better position us for the future,” said Dungey. “She’s an excellent addition to the Network senior team.”
Moran added, “Jori has a fantastic reputation as a creative thinker and someone who gets the job done. We are thrilled to have her as part of the Studio team.”
Arancio joined Freeform — then ABC Family — in 2011. There she developed press strategies designed to drive awareness of the network, as well as reach. She was also a member of the senior executive team that led the rebranding of the cable channel as Freeform in January. She previously served as VP of communications for ABC Daytime and SOAPnet.
She previously worked at Disney Channel and at the strategic public relations firm of Bragman/Nyman/Cafarelli.
