Twentieth Century Fox Television has tapped Casey Kyber for the role of vice president, drama development. Kyber previously led the studio’s research department.
In her new position, Kyber will work with writers to develop new drama projects for the studio. She will report to Michael Thorn, executive VP of development.
“Casey has been a trusted adviser to our development and current programming departments for years, and she’s been an invaluable resource to our creators literally from the first draft of their pilots,” said Jonathan Davis, president of creative affairs for 20th Century Fox Television. “She has a laser-like ability to home in on exactly what could improve or trip up any project, and an encyclopedic knowledge of the landscape. Her background in research makes her the perfect addition to our already formidable team, because she’ll come at the development process from an entirely new angle. She’s also beloved, both at this company and in the community. Michael and I are thrilled that she accepted our invitation to become even more involved in creating our next generation of hit programming.”
During her stint in research, Kyber provided ratings analysis, tracked series awareness and organized focus groups for new and returning shows. She also worked with studio executives during pilot season and year-round to gather audience feedback about projects in development.
Kyber joined 20th Century Fox Television in 2000 as a research and marketing manager, eventually rising to senior VP. She began her career as an intern at CBS in 1997.
Twentieth Century Fox Television has received seven drama-pilot orders and two straight-to-series orders for the 2016-17 season.
