LONDON — Andrew Griffith, the group chief financial officer and managing director, commercial businesses, at European pay TV operator Sky, has expanded his responsibilities to become group chief operating officer, in addition to his existing role.
Griffith has been Sky’s CFO and an executive director of Sky since April 2008, and held a number of senior finance roles within Sky prior to this appointment. Since 2012, in addition to his role as CFO, he has had executive responsibility for Sky’s advertising business.
Griffith originally joined the company in 1999 from Rothschild, the investment bank, where he provided financial and strategic advice to corporate clients in the technology, media and telecommunications sector. In March 2014, Andrew joined the board of Just Eat as senior independent non-executive director.
Sky, in which 21st Century Fox holds a 39% stake, serves 21.5 million customers across five countries: U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy. It has annual revenues of over £11 billion ($15.8 million) and is Europe’s leading investor in television content with a combined programming budget of £4.9 billion ($7.1 billion). The group employs 30,000 people.
