‘Late Late Show With James Corden’ to Air in Germany on New Internet Station

CBS Studios Intl. and RTL II have signed a licensing agreement in Germany for “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” The series will air on RTL II’s new Internet-only linear station, RTL II You, which launched May 31.

In a first for RTL II, “The Late Late Show” will be broadcast within 24 hours of the show’s U.S. broadcast and in its original format, without German dubbing.

Since its launch in March 2015, “The Late Late Show with James Corden” has become one of the most-talked about shows on television. A-listers who have appeared on the show include Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Beckham, Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Will Ferrell. The show currently has 120 clips on YouTube with more than 1 million views each, resulting in more than 1 billion overall views and 5 million subscribers for the show’s YouTube channel.

In addition, the show’s Carpool Karaoke segment is U.S. late-night television’s biggest hit on social media, with more than 600 million views on YouTube since its inception a year ago. Carpool Karaoke has attracted some of the world’s biggest stars, including Adele and Justin Bieber, whose segments are currently the No. 1 and 2 most-watched “Late Late Show” clips on YouTube, along with Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Wonder, Gwen Stefani, Elton John and One Direction.

“The show has redefined late night broadcasting to the digital generation, and we look forward to giving German audiences access to what is undoubtedly the ultimate late night after-party,” said Armando Nunez, president and CEO of CBS Global Distribution Group.

Nadja Raoufi, senior VP of program acquisitions and new channel development RTL II, said the show “perfectly complements the portfolio on RTL II You and hits the mark among our young target group.”

“The Late Late Show with James Corden” is produced by CBS Television Productions. Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe serve as executive producers. The series is distributed worldwide by CBS Studios Intl.
