As regional director of the Benelux office, Haagmans – who was previously managing director of Affilinet Benelux — will be in charge of boosting the growth of A+E’s portfolio of channels, working closely with A+E’s affiliate partners and media sales house in the region, as well as developing new opportunities, with a special focus on digital platforms. Haagmans will take up the post at the end of September and will report to Nicolas Eglau, CEO at A+E Networks UK and general manager in the Nordics, the Benelux and CEEMEA.
“Haagmans’s appointment marks a significant step in A+E Networks’ ambitions in the region. I’m confident that with Jessica’s leadership experience and digital knowledge, we can build on our success to become an even bigger player this market,” said Eglau.
Over the last year, A+E Networks has been ramping up its business in the Benelux: It partnered with RTL Nederlands, the market leader, for advertising, launched “Crime + Investigation” on KPN and Vodafone; and boosted History channel’s reach to over 80% of Dutch homes.
“With its portfolio of strong global brands, I’m excited about the potential growth opportunities across all platforms, including digital, which will enable the company to meet its ambitions in the Benelux and across Europe,” said Haagmans.
A+E Networks will roll out its new free-to-air entertainment channel, Blaze, in the U.K. and Ireland later this month.
