Syfy Live rolled into day two of Comic-Con with host Will Arnett welcoming panelists Jaimie Alexander (“Blindspot”), Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community,” “The Odd Couple”) and “Drunk History” creator Derek Waters. Will Forte also stopped by to chat with Arnett, while “The Walking Dead” fan favorites Steven Yeun and Norman Reedus closed the show.
The panel chatted about recent happenings at Comic-Con, such as the debut of the “Luke Cage” trailer. During the panel, Arnett congratulated Forte on his Emmy nod for “The Last Man on Earth” and noted his freshly shorn hair and beard. Forte revealed that it takes him about five months to grow the thick beard he sports on his Fox comedy. After some small talk, Arnett and Forte got down to “The Battle of the Wills,” in which they challenged each other to come up with funny meanings for various acronyms.
Two fun, pre-filmed segments was included in the hour, along with chat featuring “Mr. Robot” cast members Rami Malek, Christian Slater and Carly Chaikin, as well as a “Sharknado” trivia contest with Con fans in the audience.
Finally, fans of “The Walking Dead” who waited since mid-afternoon on the sun-filled deck of the Marriott Marquis were excited to see Reedus and Yeun, who recounted the prank they played on their co-star Andrew Lincoln: planting a glitter bomb in his car. Both actors noted how tough it was to get all the glitter out of the car once their stunt proved successful. To close out the show, Arnett had zombie-themed pinatas for Reedus and Yeun to slay with “Lucille” bats — a tip of the hat to Negan’s weapon of choice.
Syfy Live concluded its Comic-Con shows Saturday with the casts of NBC’s “Timeless,” David Giuntoli (“Grimm”), Mercedes Mason (“Fear the Walking Dead”), Tara Reid (“Sharknado 4”) and “Dirk Gently” co-stars Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett.
