Taylor Swift will headline AT&T’s DirecTV Super Saturday Night kickoff event on Feb. 4, 2017, the day before Super Bowl 51 in Houston, under a multiyear pact between the 10-time Grammy-winning superstar and the telco.
DirecTV’s Super Saturday Night is the 12th for the satcaster leading up to the biggest sporting event of the year, and the first time Swift will perform during the festivities. AT&T said it will provide additional details of the multifaceted pact with the singer in the near future.
“We’re thrilled to reach a deal to bring Taylor and her unique talents to her fans and our customers in new and exclusive ways,” John Stankey, CEO of AT&T Entertainment Group, said in announcing the pact. “And we’ve thrilled attendees during the Big Game weekend for the last 11 years with A-list parties and the hottest performing music artists around, so 2017 will be our very best.”
Swift, the only woman in the history of the Grammy Awards to ever win album of the year twice, will perform at a custom-made 64,000-square-foot venue in Houston created especially for the DirecTV event. Fans will have access to tickets through a series of AT&T promotions and campaigns, the company said.
Swift tweeted her enthusiasm for the new partnership Tuesday:
