Kanye West, Strokes, Killers to Headline

The lineup for New York City’s Governors Ball Music Festival was announced Friday to extreme excitement from music fans, as Kanye West, the Strokes and the Killers were named headliners.

The three-day festival in Randall’s Island Park will also include performances by Beck, Father John Misty, Robyn, Death Cab for Cutie, Haim, Of Monsters and Men, Gary Clark Jr., Chvrches, the XX, Bloc Party and Eagles of Death Metal, to name just a few. The roster includes much overlap with the recently announced Coachella lineup.

West headlined the Ball in 2013 as well. He also toplined 2015’s FYF Fest in Los Angeles, and anticipation for his upcoming album “Swish” mounts daily among devotees. Hopeful fans might take the Gov Ball announcement as a sign that “Swish” will drop before the festival.

The Strokes headlined the Ball in 2014. Their next album is also rumored to be on the way. The Killers are in the midst of mounting a comeback.

Last year’s Ball was dominated by Drake, Deadmau5, Florence + the Machine and “Weird Al” Yankovic.

The festival goes down June 3-5. Check out the full lineup below.
