Watch the First Trailer for ‘War for Planet of the Apes’

Apes and humans face off in the first trailer for Fox’s “War for the Planet of the Apes” — the eighth film in the franchise.

“I did not start this war,” intones Andy Serkis in an ominous voiceover as the ape leader Caesar. “I offered you peace. I showed you mercy but now you are trying to finish us off.”

Human and ape armies then begin battling each other amid wintry landscapes with Woody Harrelson’s new Colonel character asserting, “We created you and nature has been punishing us ever since.”

Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller and Terry Notary are also starring. Matt Reeves, who directed 2014’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” is returning to helm from a script by Mark Bomback. Chernin Entertainment, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are producing the film

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” a sequel to 2011’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” reboot, grossed more than $700 million worldwide.

“War for the Planet of the Apes” will be released on July 14, 2017.

    'Emerald Run': Film Review

“Emerald Run” is one of the weirdest hodgepodges to make its way to theater screens and digital platforms in quite some time. Despite the game efforts of lead actor David Chokachi and attractive lensing by DP Michael Caradonna, the [...]
