Reynolds, whose “Deadpool” was released on Friday, asked Jackman about their roles in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” The movie was criticized by fans for a highly inaccurate portrayal of Deadpool.
“Did you guys get any notes from the studio to sew Eddie’s mouth shut? Make lasers shoot from his eyes,” Reynolds asked.
“I didn’t, but I thought it would be a great idea as a story it totally makes sense,” Jackman responded.
Reynolds also asked Jackman fan questions. One, from a Bryan Bleynolds, wanted to dig deeper into the “X-Men Origins” movie — specifically whether or not he wore special lifts in his shoe to make him feel taller.
“It’s true, I did,” Jackman said. “It was a story reason. Everything in that movie was about story and character.”
The two bonded over their shared title of Sexiest Man Alive, talked about the craft of acting, and pondered how much of Jackman’s success came from excellent bone structure. Reynolds also asked the question on everyone’s mind: Does Jackman actually age?
“Not since 2008,” Jackman said.
“You are f—ing gorgeous,” Reynolds responded.
