Veteran casting director Ronna Kress has been named executive VP of casting for Twentieth Century Fox Film.

Kress will report directly to Emma Watts, president of production.

Kress has credits on casting “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Great Gatsby,” “The Blind Side” and “Moulin Rouge.” She cast the first films in the “Pirates of Caribbean” and “Fast and Furious” franchises.

Kress has worked on Fox films that include “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” “Chronicle,” “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Deadpool.”

“We have worked with Ronna many times over the years and are excited to officially bring her into the Fox family,” said Watts. “She has a truly unique ability to identify talent and is a real actor’s champion.”

In her new role, Kress will oversee feature casting for 20th Century Fox, Fox 2000 Pictures, Fox Animation, Fox International Productions and Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Kress began her career working in extras casting in New York on Woody Allen films. She moved to Los Angeles and worked for three years as the associate at Warner Bros. for casting director Marion Dougherty, then worked as the associate for David Rubin, casting with him such films as “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Cold Mountain.”
