This June’s annual Produced By Conference will feature in-depth conversations with Morgan Freeman’s Revelations Entertainment, FX Networks and FX Productions and with “Fargo” executive producer Noah Hawley. The eighth annual event will also present a comprehensive look at New Regency, the company responsible for two straight best picture winners at the Academy Awards — “12 Years a Slave” and “Birdman.”
The June 4 and 5 event at the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City will bring together producer/director Steve McQueen and New Regency — the company also behind last year’s acclaimed “The Revenant” — with the company’s chief executive, Brad Weston, and its president of production, Pam Abdy.
Produced By features a series of roundtables, panels and interactive events, including sessions in which up-and-coming producers can test their pitching skills on veterans. The sessions on pitching films will be led by Amy Baer (“Last Vegas”) and Michael London (“Trumbo.”) The television pitching panel will be headed by Gary Levine, president of programming for Showtime, and Melissa Rosenberg of Marvel’s “Jessica Jones.” Produced By co-chair Marshall Herskovitz (“Blood Diamond” and “Thirtysomething”) will oversee both of the pitching sessions.
Among other producers and speakers participating in the conference are John Davis, David Friendly, Gary Levine and Melissa Rosenberg.
Registration and pricing information can be found at ProducedByConference. Early bird registration ends May 1st.
