Max Landis is releasing another comic book.

Landis, who is known for penning “Chronicle,” “American Ultra” and the upcoming TV series “Dirk Gently,” is turning back to comics for a new limited, nine-issue series called “Green Valley,” Skybound’s newest book through publisher Image Comics. The story follows a group of four knights, once close friends, who are given one last shot at redemption with a quest to kill a wizard and slay his dragons. The only problem is that dragons and wizards don’t exist.

“’Green Valley’ was an idea I had when I was a very little kid,” Landis said. “As I got older, most of my ideas from when I was small sounded stupider and stupider. But ‘Green Valley’ persisted in my mind, and grew. I’m glad to see it finally come to life so beautifully.”

This won’t be Landis’ first foray into the comic space. The writer is just wrapping up a limited series for DC Comics on their prized Man of Steel called “Superman: American Alien,” which takes a look at the Kryptonian hero at different phases in his life.

“Green Valley” releases on October 5 with pencils by “Amazing Spider-Man” artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, inks by Cliff Rathburn, colors by Jean-Francois Beaulieu and letters by Pat Brosseau.
